What is an Orthotic?

Orthotics are orthopedic devices that are placed inside the shoe to support and correct the function of the feet during standing, walking and running.

Functional Orthotics

  • “Functional” orthotics are “custom” made devices that fit into your footwear,which improves the “function” of your feet by controlling excessive or unnecessary motion while standing, walking or running.

Accommodative Orthotics

  • “Accommodative” orthotic are custom made devices that fit into your footwear to “accommodate” foot deformity. Their main function is to transfer pressure and weight away from a painful or pre-ulcer area and disperse the pressure to the entire bottom of the foot.
